Evaluation Systems

EZchip offers a variety of evaluation systems to expedite development of systems based on our NP-1c or NP-2 network processor.

EZ-System

The compact EZ-System features ten 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports (or one 10-Gigabit port) and a complete data plane and control plane solution. The highly flexible NP-1c or NP-2 network processor provides 10-Gigabit data plane processing and classifying while a RadiSys® PrPMC Mezzanine Card provides control plane processing.

AdvancedTCA® Evaluation Board

The compact NP-1c ATCA Board is based on the new AdvancedTCA® standard and provided as a blade that can be plugged into an ATCA-compliant chassis. Similar to EZ-System, it features ten 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports (or one 10-Gigabit port) and a complete data plane and control plane solution. The highly flexible NP-1c or NP-2 provides 10-Gigabit data plane processing and classifying while a RadiSys® PrPMC Mezzanine Card provides control plane processing.

Additional Evaluation Systems

Evaluation boards (non-ATCA form factor) are available with a choice of 1GE, 10GE, or OC-192 POS interfaces. Two boards may be interconnected to provide a complete ingress and egress line card path. Multiple boards may be connected via an external switch fabric platform. All these evaluation boards have a PCI connector that plugs into a standard Single Board Computer on which control plane software may run, and interface with the NP-1c on the evaluation board.

Software Environment

A comprehensive software environment with support for the Linux® and VxWorks® operating systems is provided. EZchip also provides customers with a broad library featuring tested source code for a wide range of applications, including L2 switching, Metro Ethernet switch, MPLS, VPLS and Draft Martini, IPv4, IPv6, ACL (Access Control Lists), firewall and more.
